Perched on a secluded cove along the Palos Verdes coastline, this painting emerged from an afternoon of quiet observation. Beneath an overcast sky, the Pacific shifted into muted greens and soft grays, while the scent of salt water and the rhythm of the tide transformed the landscape into something almost meditative.
Rather than documenting the coastline, The Coves of Palos Verdes captures the atmosphere of the place. Delicate linear forms drift through translucent washes like coastal contours, submerged kelp forests, or memories suspended beneath the ocean's surface. Layers of green, charcoal, and pale blue dissolve into one another, blurring the line between land, water, and imagination.
The result is an abstract landscape shaped as much by sensation as by observation—a reflection on stillness, the subtle power of nature, and those rare moments when the outside world becomes inseparable from our inner one.
